Zoe-perry
Perry is a Chicago native who was she was born into Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the character. The parents of her didn't want her to perform until she turned an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry states that she did not want to perform in high school, but she decided to begin performing as a form of social interaction at Northwestern University when she switched to the university from Boston University. Perry had the opportunity to secure small TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent after she graduated. The feeling of homelessness, however, led her back to California again where she began to work on stage. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. Perry was in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie, along with Kevin McKidd. This was staged in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry was a part of the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on the ABC drama The Family. Perry was also featured in the role of a political thriller Scandal with her father. The same year the actress was selected to play a younger version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger version of her mother's role. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to the character, she was offered the role via an audition.
